When You can't stop to work
Psychological treatment for workaholism in Madrid. Confidential, non-judgmental care tailored to your life and your professional schedule.
Initial assessment in a safe and respectful environment. Individual sessions.

Working hard is neither a virtue nor a flaw.

Regaining Balance, Step by Step
We use cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to examine the beliefs that link your self-worth to your performance, set boundaries, learn to disconnect, and manage stress. When it’s appropriate, we address it with our Unified Transdiagnostic Model (MUT).
First Confidential Call
Assessment and Objectives
We review your background, your relationship with work, rest, physical health, and relationships. Together, we set realistic goals and create a plan tailored to your needs.
Therapy and Lifestyle Changes
Consolidate progress and prevent relapses
We foster a healthy relationship with work, pay attention to warning signs, and, if appropriate, involve the partner or family to support the change over time.
Understanding Work Addiction
When Work Is No Longer Healthy +
- You feel an inner need to work, and you find it hard to stop even when you want to.
- You can't seem to disconnect: you're still reachable by phone and email at all hours, even on vacation.
- You feel guilty, anxious, or irritable when you're resting or not being productive.
- You keep going despite the toll it takes on your health, your sleep, and your relationships.
Being committed adds to your life; compulsion takes away your freedom. That's the difference.
What usually goes along with it +
- Persistent anxiety and, at times, low mood or depression.
- Perfectionism and obsessive traits, with a self-imposed standard that is difficult to satisfy.
- Sometimes, I use substances to "perform" and stay alert, or to "unwind" at the end of the day.
When they occur at the same time, we address them together.
The toll on your health and your relationships +
- Insomnia or interrupted sleep, and exhaustion that the weekend doesn't help alleviate.
- Physical symptoms: headaches, digestive discomfort, muscle tension, and stress-related cardiovascular effects.
- Distance from one's partner and family, little time spent together, and isolation.
- Risk of burnout, accompanied by a lack of motivation and apathy.
